run, run, run

here's a list of race i would like to participate in for the remaining of 2006:

1) Penang Bridge Half Marathon on 30th July
2) Subang USJ 10km Fun Run on 20th Aug
3) Putrajaya Half Marathon on 10th Sept
4) Mizuno Wave Run on 17th Sept
5) Singapore Half Marathon on 3rd Dec

5 races for the remaining of 6 months should be enough to keep me motivated and fully utilise my gym membership.

leave!

the company got me an assistant 3 weeks ago, and last week, he tendered in his resignation. less than a month and he's leaving!!

in a way, i'm quite happy that he'll be leaving because i just can't stand young people these days! i shall not bitch about it because for all i know... the problem might just be me. someone told me that i'm a good manager when it comes to work and management deliverables but i'm a lousy manager when it comes to guiding fresh grads.

i agree.

shop, shop, shop

i'm back from yet another trip to singapore... and i'm super duper broke, it's not funny! but i'm happy because unlike other trips, this time i have purchases (notice the plural?) hehehe. here's a list of things that i recently got from there :

2 pairs of New Balance running shoes
1 pair of casual / working shoes
2 tops
2 dresses - 1 pink and the other black & white
2 bags - 1 black and the other red
1 floral skirt

with the new running shoes, i shall start training for the spore half marathon in december :)

PJ Half Marathon

today is the day.

reached the stadium at 5:30am and after registration, i checked out the 'competition'... i was scared and very much intimidated by the outlook of some of them. some looked super fit... some wore designer brands from head to toe, some were doing their super-duper stretches and warm-ups.... i told myself just do my best and if i finished within the top 100, it would be a bonus.

the whistle went off and people were cutting me from both left and right, but i kept my pace and kept things slow and steady, slowly counting down the distance. even when i reached the hilly areas, i didn't stop running, just merely slowed down my pace and kept on running, and running, and running...

almost towards the last 1km, i felt like dying. the feeling of so near yet so far. but i picked my speed and ran as fast as i could for the last 1km and then i crossed the finished line...

i got the 82 placing... i completed the race in 1 hour 3 mins.

no bad for a first timer eh? now i'm working towards the singapore half marathon in december.

move along

the other day, someone asked me if i had any updates on the big bad wolf that was in my life previously.

the answer is : there won't be any more updates on the big bad wolf because i have closed that chapter in my life. i would like to think i've made a fantastic job moving on with my life. i'm happier and healthier and i looked better than i did before! (well, that's what people has been telling me anyway) ;)

as part of my moving on with life, i've secured 2 interviews in singapore next week. i'm pretty excited about that... so i shall be spending my weekend preparing for the interview. relocating to singapore for more exposure has been in my thoughts for the longest time... but this time, i've taken the initiative to do something about it, hence, the interview.

well... wish me luck!!

updates, updates, updates (episode 2)

more updates that i left out earlier...

1) boss got me a spanking new compaq presario B2800 laptop. this baby is such a beauty... it's white (goes every nicely with my ipod video), it's light, it's sleek... it's beautiful

2) i managed to get back in touch with a long lost buddy. we've lost touch for almost 8 years and it's just amazing how our path crossed again. we've been trying to catch up since then and will be meeting up for lunch soon. i can't wait!!

3) did i mention that i had my salary review and that i got a raise?? yoo-hoo!!

-the end-

updates, updates, updates...

i've been 'gone' for quite a while and loads had happened during the time i was 'away'...

1) i finally got myself a new car. i've been driving it for almost 1.5 months now and seriously... i must say that i love my car!! it goes zoom zoom zoom across town. although i'm practically broke nowadays, i still love my car :)

2) my agency has finally moved into the new office. the whole experience has been somewhat exciting because i was involved in the entire process. we're still located in the posh area of damansara heights, and the office is located in The Epicure. Even the name of the building sounds posh... don't you reckon?

3) with the new office, i now have a team. my media executive has joined me and i must say he's a good boy - hardworking, humble, willing to learn. however, i'm not the best manager to learn from but i will try my best to teach and be patient with him.

4) my marathon is merely 2 weeks away and so far, i can manage 6km of running. this weekend i shall attempt 8km. i can see my fitness level improving.

5) with the improvement of my fitness level, i finally fit into my cheong sam again!! i have NOT wore that cheong sam for a least 5 years, and had always hoped to fit into it again. Lo and behold... it's a reality now and i reckon i'll wear that to a wedding dinner this weekend.

6) and last but not least... one of the most exciting news is... MY COUSIN IS COMING BACK FOR A VISIT IN DEC!!! i'm so excited because we've not met for at least 8 years... couz... if you are reading, you have to at least stay the weekend with me.
