gym-junkie

i stepped into the gym again after a 2 week hiatus... and it was such a great feeling to be able to cycle and run and sweat again!

at first i thought of just attending the spinning class to 'get-into-the-rhythm-and-momentum' since i just recovered from a calf injury... BUT... i went on and did a 3km run after the spinning class.

i'm glad that i hadn't lost too much stamina because i need to improve my stamina for the next race.

bugger off

i haven't been the friendliest person in the office since last friday. in fact, i've been a total biatch. could you really blame me when top management has been playing childish games on me?

post sentosa x-terrain run

i'm back from the sentosa x-terrain race in singapore and the race was... AWESOME!

19th August :
i reached singapore early saturday morning with a sore throat and cough. my cousin was concern about my cough because it might lead to something serious and she went on and on about some medical stuffs that i couldn't be arsed about. anyways... i told her i was not going to waste her $S25 registration by not completing. plus, she has also bought me brand new outfit for the race - dri-fit top and pants. i had to run, right? so when night arrived, we loaded ourselves with carbo by having yummy meat pasta.

20th August:
race day!! woke up at 5:30am and had breakfast. need all the carbo i can get... all thanks to my cousin. even her hubby who was not running was up that early because he had to drive us to sentosa. the crowd was massive. i reckon there were about 3000 runners. looking at the crowd and 10 mins to flagged off, i suddenly had butterflies in my tummy and felt like puking.
the race began at 7:45am and i started running. the hilly tracks started 300 meters into the race course. i had been training for hilly tracks so i was prepared for it. but the real killer came when i hit the beach. it was only a 2km stretch but i stopped running after probably 100meters and started walking. even walking was tough! and i had to always be cautious with my steps to ensure that i don't fall and sprain my ankles. after the beach stretch, i started running again but my running momentum has been affected by the walk. it has difficult to regain the lost momentum, but i had no choice but to slowly regain it. when i hit the 8km mark, i started to pick up my pace again, and when i reached the final 1km mark, i went all out!

my time is : 1 hour 15 mins 32 sec

my aim was to complete the race within an hour, unfortunately, i had to stop running when i reached the beach. hence, the additional 15 mins. my cousin finished 2 mins after me. anyway, it was a really good run and i look forward to it again next year. this time, i will have to learn how to run on the beach. going home to Penang will be useful this time around.

here'a a post run photo with my cousin and her family and us having brunch after the run.

this is race weekend

race weekend is here and i'm a nervous wreck because this is my first 'international' race (anywhere that requires a passport is international to me) :P

my aim is to run throughout the course of the race and also to better my time... hopefully i will complete the race within an hour or less.

as i ran yesterday, today i shall take a rest. will run tomorrow and also thursday and probably friday as well. then i'll be driving down on early saturday morning.

slowly but surely

i can now breeze through a 6km stretch in the gym. i have improved my distance by double compared to 3 months ago. not only i can run further, i also run faster now. i use to take 5 mins to complete 1km, now it is down to 3.5 mins per 1km.

GREAT!

can't wait to breeze through 10km in less than an hour.

bloody arse

don't try to threaten me because i won't be intimidated by you. it just shows the level of your maturity and professionalism...

biatch!

you are getting more unreasonable each day and if you are not careful, you'll be making a lot of enemies...

and this is a small industry. better watch your back!

poor but happy

my bank account is a few thousand ringgit poorer today. although it money was hard earned money, but it was also money well spent.

i'm taking my mom and sis to visit one of my favourite cities in South East Asia... Bangkok for a weeks' holiday, while i attend my friend's wedding.

i hope they will enjoy the land of smiles as much as me.

dragon tiger gate

i do not care what the critics has to say about this movie but i absolutely love it! who cares if the movie has a weak storyline? the fighting scenes were good. cinematography was good. effects were good too. some might argue that the effects were exaggerated. but hey, it's based on a comic book, all effects in comic books are exaggerated anyway.

of course the reason i watched this movie in the first place is because of donnie yan. i absolutely love donnie yan. i mean, what is there not to like about him? he speaks fluent english. he adores his wife and daughter. he plays the piano. he looks damn good. and he is a trained martial artist.

and i have a lot of respect for martial artist having been in the art myself for 12 years of my life. whenever i see these martial artist-turned-actor on screen, i'm always amazed with their stunts, their perfect kicks, their perfect stance... somehow it makes me miss my training days. anyways, let's not go down memory lane.

dragon tiger gate will be in my permanent collection of dvd soon. can't wait to get my hands on the dvd for safe keeping.
