Nationalism

I consider myself a resposible citizen. Practicing my right to vote every 4 years, renewing my IC to MyKad, participating in the recycling campaign, participating in the blood donation drive by the Blood Bank... So it was only natural for me sit in a presentation to educate myself on the taxation scene in Malaysia.

After 2 hours, I'm still as clueless about the taxation scene in Malaysia as before I went into the presentation.

Geez!

To recap again...

It's been ages since my last entry. I doubt that it's due to the lack of activity in my life... instead i would prefer to say it was due to the lack of time. A whole lot has happened since my last entry way back in November... let me recall some of the more memorable incidents:

I remembered my promotion made official during the monthly management gathering cum birthday party. Funny how the title senior planner doesn't seem to make any difference. It's still the same old shit and frustration in the agency as i had experience for the past 3 years that i've been in the industry.

Moving away from work to my cousin's Raya Open House. My brother brought his girlfriend there and the entire family was buzzing with questions and excitement. Since he broke-up with his ex-girlfriend of 7 years a few years ago, it seems that the entire family which includes aunts, uncles, cousins... were more concern over his so-called wellbeing than he was! I love my brother and his partner better treats him good because i'll not be friendly if it was otherwise. So far, this certain Ms J is nice. And the word NICE is a very powerful word in my dictionary made for my brother.

I've also got in touch with my niece in the States. It's weird how i'm older in generation but younger in age. Her mom and my mom are of the same age but of different generation as well. Maybe we should try put this on Ripley's Believe it Or Not and make some money out of it. Anyways, we hung out lots as kids when we were in Penang but as we grew up and entered Uni we kinda lost touch. But now we're back in touch and rediscovering the person we are today and reminising our childhood - it's a wonderful feeling! I plan to visit her in California next summer. So i'm now saving every penny i have for this much anticipated trip.

Moving on to the present moment... i was hit by a realisation that our company Xmas dinner is this Friday, which means Xmas is next week and 2005 will be here the week after next! I'll make another entry on that later.

Til then... it's back to work. Why am i not excited?
