The phone call

"Please come to my office now for 2 minutes". Clicked. My MD hung up. My panic mode is on high alert. Nonetheless, i dragged myself to him office. Heart pounding. A thousand thoughts going through my mind... thoughts about what had i done wrong. Aww man. I hate this. I wonder if he enjoys doing this.

I'm now a sr planner.

At the moment, I'm more worried than happy. He's going to make the official annoucement towards the end of this week. I'm not looking forward to that.

10 days of bliss

It's been almost a month since my last entry. Let me recount all the events that happened during my entry absence.

An old schoolmate whom i've not heard from for at least 5 years, rang me up one night and invited me out for tea. It was almost 11pm that night, and i had just recovered from a bad flu and sore throat, but i couldn't resist the invitation. So i went. To my surprise, there were about 8 more other schoolmates there, and we had a blast catching up. I was shocked to know that 6 of them are married, and 3 of them are now parents! I can't see myself married at age 26, let alone being a parent! Nonetheless, congratulations to all of them, and best wishes!

Then it was the Deepavali and Raya break. It was the longest break i had ever since i started working 3 years ago - 10 days in totality. I spent 5 days in Krabi with my boyfriend and the other 4 days in Penang with my family.

Krabi is paradise. Within that paradise, we rock climbed and i ended up with bruises on my knees and elbows and my body was sore the day after. No special prize for guessing who had a good time teasing me about it. We kayaked and island hopped around the Andaman Sea, and only realised after dinner that we did all the kayaking without a life jacket on. We also went for a daily dose of massage. We had a foot massage, a face and head massage, shoulders and back massage, and of course the traditional thai massage. We also made friends along the way. The German gay couple is so good looking and i now have a south african friend. My first ever south african friend... he's not bad looking as well... but since he's straight, not as well-groomed as the germans. Hehehe.

1 day after Krabi, i went to Penang - my homeland. Although i grew up in KL and will get lost in Penang without my dad... i still want to call myself a Penangite.

I ate myself sick over there cause it's a food paradise. On a particular Friday, i had chee cheong fun for breakfast, hainanese chicken rice for lunch, assam laksa and lok lok during tea time, char kuih teow for dinner, mua che and ice kacang for supper. I needed ENO after that. I also weigh myself after that... the same figures appeared on the machine. Phew! My grandaunt made me a tupperware full of mua chee to enjoy here in KL. Yummmm....

I came back to work reality yesterday.

But i have the Xmas season to look forward to. Let's not forget the Hong Kong trip that i won as well. All i have to worry about now is the balance in my bank account.

Lucky Draws

I've always been unlucky at lucky draws. On the few occasions that i did get lucky, somehow the prizes were pretty useless - for myself at least. Let me go through the number of times when i actually won something (yes. i can count with 1 hand.)

2 years ago at a company party, i won myself a blender. I was quite happy that time because my mom's trusted blender died on her a couple of weeks back, and i haven't got the time or money to get her a new one. So, i presented her a brand new blender the next morning. She's still using the blender.

Last year, also during a company party, i won myself a queen size duvet and a microwave. A queen size is useless to me as i only have a single bed. I made RM100 when i sold that duvet to a friend, and for the life of me, i didn't know what i did with the RM100. Most probably I used it to pay off a bit of my debt - like 1% of my debts. The microwave, is still sitting in the store room - waiting for someone's housewarming party.

And also sometime last year, i almost won myself a flat screen television. Yeah, the key word is ALMOST. I could have made RM20,000 easily with that flat screen television. How unfortunate!

Rolling into Year 2004. So far, i've not won anything. Not even a pathetic RM10 shopping voucher. When i was asked to participate in a magazine's 5th anniversary lucky draw contest, i wasn't too bothered by it, but i participated anyway.

My lucky stars must have been working really hard for the past few weeks because i received a call yesterday, telling me that i've actually won the grand prize - a trip to Hong Kong! As i know the person on the other line, i told him to shut up. Poor soul, his boss had to call me and send me an email to break the good news to me.

Yoo-hoo!! I'm extreamly happy and will start planning my trip soon. Hong Kong - here i come! Shopping, shopping and more shopping! Retail therapy, just want i need.

But before that, let me apologize to that poor soul.

Dear Anonymous

My dear anonymous,

Welcome to my blog. Your comment on my post entitled "It's Time to Restart the PC" is much appreciated. Please allow me to clarify some things:

#1) I'm not a dude.

#2) I have my pens (in all my favourite colours) and papers to rely on if I didn't have a PC or internet access. What's wrong with writing down my thoughts in a piece of paper and sending it by snail mail to my friends? At least the mailman can keep his job.

#3) Funny i don't recall blaming the PC for the RM1,700 that costed me my movie. If you didn't know, i was merely angry at myself for missing out the RM1,700 in my calculations. And if you must know, i got all the budget right after 15 min.

Hope you'll continue visiting my blog, and as I said earlier, your comments are most welcomed and appreciated. I just felt the need to clarify some things, that's all.

Have a good day ahead.

Best Regards,
Me!

Things that drives me up the wall

What is the use of a mobile phone when it's switched off half the time?
What is the use of a swatch when people don't refer to it to ensure that they are on time?

Yes, I'm anal about things like these.
