braving myself ...

and so i went. speed dating that is. and it was fun. i'm glad i didn't chickened out.
i was cool and calm until i parked my car. i knew then that there was no turning back. i kept asking myself... what's the worst that could happened??

there were a total of 15 guys and probably 12 ladies that night and the 1 thing that we all have in common is this : that we're all out there to have fun and make new friends.

and i met the good, the bad and the ugly... all in 1 night. allow me to countdown the top 5 nice guys who managed to leave an impression...

5. Damien. now... the reason why i remember him is because firstly i like the name damien... and secondly... this guy knows a few of my ex-clients, and we had a good 5 minutes talking about the people we know and both agreeing what a small world this is.

4. Yeo. He's the first guy on my table and he's the first architect that i know. besides that, i can't recall our conversation. oh... just remembered... he's the only guy that brought over some fruits to my table during the break as well.

3. Terence. Now this guy is interesting as he designs computer games. Spend almost 20 years of his life in the United States, he speaks with a slight accent. And what i found so interesting was the fact that he took a 6 months break off work and just chilled. Now that's what i call cool.

2. Dave. This guy got my age right on the dot. Nice chap. Easy going. Makes a good clubbing / yum cha buddy.

1. Brandon. This is the best looking guy that night. A marine engineer that spends most of his time at sea. Young too i should say... at only 28 he's seen the world. Would be nice to have him as a friend...

Those are the only 5 names that i remember... the other guys were either boring or arrogant. This particular guy was such a bore and the 5 mins seems like forever. seriously, i've never met any guy this boring. he just sat there and don't talk!! on the other side of the spectrum, there was another guy who just went on and on and on about his business plans... BORING too.

But i suppose nothing could beat the arrogant lawyer who thinks that he's the ONLY lawyer here in town, and that he's a god sent to women. i put a big NO at the side of his name.

Would i attend another speed date? I might. I had a fun night.

Will update again on my compatibility.

single and lovin' it

the advantage of being single hit me hard in the face yesterday when i made a decision within 15 minutes and got myself a plane ticket to Bangkok.

ahhhh.... the feeling is great because...
... i only answer to myself
... my time is all my own
... i can be a selfish bitch and not feel guitly
... i can pack my bags and go anywhere i want to without prior notice to anybody
...i do not have to compromise on anything...

ahhhh... the advantages of being single
i'm proud to say that i'm enjoying every minute of it!!

My month...

As i turn 27 soon... i'd like to share some of my childhood photos

This was taken at my grandma's house.

She's seen here surrounded by her grand and some great grandchildren.
I lived with her until i was about 5 and i spoke fluent hainanese.
I visited her almost every school holiday and would cry when the holiday is over because that means i'll have to go back to KL.
Btw, i'm the one sporting a 'mushroom' hairstyle with a snoopy t-shirt.

This was taken at my cousin's house.

I'm the cute little kid in the blue dress at the far corner.

2 of my cousins are in the US now. The other cousin in pink stripe blouse will be getting married in 2 weeks time. The other cousin in green is a NZ PR and she's the annoying one amongst all of us.

Last but not least, the boy in the Superman t-shirt is my brother.
