staying home is the solution

retail therapy is a shitty thing to enjoy. but i would still like to update on the list of items that i just recently bought :

1 skirt
2 belts
1 pair of shoe
5 tops
1 pair of shorts

and i've yet to recover from the Grand Spore Sale... and it's now the Malaysian Mega Sale.

still an immature kid

my previous boss told me that i'm an ungrateful and immature kid when i tendered. why? because i resigned 4 months after i was promoted. hence... ungrateful.

my current boss told me that i'm a selfish and immature kid when i tendered 2 days ago. and he's very dissapointed in me. why? because i'm leaving to go back to the big boys with big advertising dollar.

notice the similiarity? both bosses told me that i'm immature. why? i really do not know. am i immature for planning out my career path? am i immature to grow and expand my advertising portfolio? am i immature for accepting another agency's offer?

i cannot help what other think about me... but my stance remains. it's nothing personal, it's just business.

it's just idiotic

i don't know what is becoming of our malaysian media. i mean, the events that makes headline in the leading daily is just absurb!

Last Saturday, a celebrity charity sky-diving event made front page news. yes... a charity event is news worthy because the public need more education and awareness to help those that is in need. unfortunately the charity event only had a 2-sentence mentioned towards the end of the report. instead, the report was used to highlight the up-and-coming television serial that some of the celebrity is involved in currently.

Fast forwarding to today, front page story is a wedding annoucement of malaysian darling of pop to some businessman, whom by the way is 20 years her senior. i just don't understand what is the big deal about the wedding. i mean, i'm happy that she has met the love of her life and that they are getting married... but don't you think her decision to wed someone 20 years her senior is any of our problem?? it's not like we know her personally. or are involved in her life in any way...

What about reporting on world issues? Like the terror attacks in Baghdad? Like the earth quake that hit Indonesia late last night? How we can extend our help as citizens of the world? What is the impact of these on the world economy? How the world economy will affect our everyday life here? Why is nature acting up on us? Why all the attacks?

What counts as news-worthiness these days is just absurb!

runner has a look?

people are often surprised to hear that i run because i don't look like a runner. well, of course i don't look like a runner! i do not even dare to claim that i'm a runner after having just competed in 1 competition.

but i would like to look like runner someday. with the Sentosa X-Trail Race coming up in about a month, i have to get serious in my training. putting on my running shoe is easy, it's taking care of my diet that is the hardest part :(

stressed out... not about work!

2 things that are stressing me up about participating in the Sentosa X-Terrain Run :

i) my fitness level
training for the Sentosa X-Terrain Race started over the weekend and frankly speaking, i don't think my fitness level is up to par. i was running outdoors with a combination of hilly slops and flat roads and even before i could complete 5km, i was almost dead! and to think that i completed a 10km run just a few weeks before in an hour! what a disgrace! i don't even want to think about how i'm going to tackle the sand / beach run as i foresee that would be the hardest.

ii) running amongst singaporeans
this annual X-Terrain event is organised by the Singapore National Service team. so can you imagine how fit these runners are gonna be?? although this race is also a 10km race, would i be able to finish within 1 hour?

again?

how do i prepare myself for running on the beach / sand? how do i prepare myself for running on trail? what is running on trail anyway? why am i asking all these random questions?

because i'll be competing in the X-Terrain Challenge in Singapore on 20th August. This race includes a 6km road, 1.2m sand and 2.4km trail track.

i'm not even sure what i have gotten myself into.

suggestions are welcome.

karma

i'm a firm believer of karma. i believe that what goes around will eventually come around. and i had my first taste of karma yesterday after gym.

for the past month, my media executive has been driving me up the wall, both personally and professionally... and i've been bitching about him with my best friend. so anyway, last Friday was his last day, and even though he is gone, my bestfriend and i were still bitching about him over lunch yesterday...

lo and behold, right after lunch, as i was heading out of Mid Valley to meet another friend for drinks, i ran into a an accident. i knocked the car in front of me!! but i was lucky as the driver was such a sweetheart, he let me off the hook because there were only very very minor damages to his car... PHEW!!

and when i got home, my best friend smsed me, telling me that she accidentally slammed her finger against her car door and now she has a broken finger. and she ended her sms by saying:

"no more bitching about other people... it's BAD KARMA!"
