regaining my fitness

i’ve been slacking on my training since the singapore marathon last december. with the festive season parties and the traveling, i could feel that i was gaining the pounds and losing my fitness.

i’ve also just recently identified the few major races that i would want to complete it – the first race being the KL International Marathon in March – and needed to start training again almost immediately.

now u fear that u won’t be able to complete in the marathon because my fitness has dropped tremendously. imagine me going to the gym yesterday, wanted to do my 45 min spinning and 30 min run… but instead after the 45 min spinning, i was feeling so light headed that i needed to sit down.

it feels like shit to feel so un-fit. with me being away in East Malaysia and Chinese New Year in feb, i have to figure out a way to improve my fitness and complete the KL International Marathon within the given 3 hour timeline.

1st weekend of 2007

Neo60 is finally here in KL!! I haven’t seen her in almost 10 years, it’s insane, I know!! But we get to catch up and had a great time exploring Kuala Lumpur and here are the highlights of our weekend adventures:

5th January 2007
The public phones here ‘ate’ almost all of her coins and she ended up waiting for an hour before I went to pick her up from the train station.

Had a quick and simple dinner and then it was off to the mamak stalls – my favourite kinda hang out place because it’s open 24 / 7, it’s cheap and because I’m a true blue Malaysian.

Best part of that night – neo60 got herself a classic dvd. She actually found the Happy Ghost movie trilogy. This is a classic – dated all the way back to 1984!!

6th January 2007
We’re up and it was only 8am on a Saturday!! Since we’re up, might as well go out for breakfast. Usually breakfast is toast and milo for me but this weekend, we went to some Chinese coffee shop outside and had noodles for breakfast!!

Then it was off to the Petronas Twin Towers. Then it was to Central Market. Then we walked to Petaling Street. A visit to Petaling Street will not be complete if we didn’t stop by the Air Mata Kuching stall. Along the way we visited some temple around that area. Then we took the Monorail to Sungai Wang.

When night falls, we took a bus (yes!! Metrobus!!) to Titiwangsa for the launch of Visit Malaysia Year 2007.

7th January 2007
We woke up even earlier today @ 7:30am!! Visited the KLCC Sky Bridge and only managed have lunch about 2pm. Then it was off to Putrajaya, with me driving and neo60 looking out for directions!

8th January 2007
I had to go to work (sigh) and she left KL to Penang. Too bad the weekend went by so fast.
