DrivinginKL 101

i've been driving for 10 years and the traffic madness here in Kuala Lumpur is starting to eat into me. well... maybe it's not so much of the traffic... but the other drivers from out of state that is driving me nuts and they are a contributor to bad traffic here in Kuala Lumpur.

cars number plates to look out for when driving on KL roads :

- Car Plates that starts with A.... these bunch of slow-pots are from Perak. i would classified them as slow and dangerous drivers! my advise is... to overtake them as soon as you can!!

- Car Plates that starts with J... these bunch of 'illegal racers' are from the notorious state of Johore. just because the Pasir Gudang race track is situated in Johore, they think that they are heavenly racers. but the truth is they are just a bunch of fast and dangerous drivers who don't have any regards to other cars on the road. my advise is... to let them overtake you so they can be as far away in distance from you as possible.

- Car Plates that starts with T... these are the east coast bunch of drivers. probably used to driving on coastal roads, these bunch of drivers are always on 'cruising' mode even during rush hours. my advise is... unless you are cruising on a weekend... overtake them as soon as possible as well.

besides driving styles, what annoys the hell out of me is also the fact that malaysian drivers has got no regards to traffic rules. sometimes i seriously believe that they do not even understand the signs on roads. like what a yellow box means. or a yellow line means. or a double line means. most of them also don't know the no parking sign. or the no waiting / parking sign.

ok... enough bitching about the traffic here... i must admit that sometimes i fall into those traps as well. however, i try my best to be patient on the road and be a good driver by following basic traffic rules. and as many bad encounters i've had... there are also plenty of pleasant drivers on the road.

splashing it all the way

a friend of mine quit his day job to set up his own swim school. it's actually about time as his day job has been pretty shitty; and since he is a natural born swimmer and loves the sport, what better time than now to start out on his own??

for times like these i wonder if i should've return back to my martial arts training and start up my own school. i mean i spent 12 years of my life training, out of that, 5 years was spent on competitive training, got my referee certificate and was already teaching the juniors and helping out on managing the sports club... i could go back to where i left off and pursue my instructor certificate and start a proper school.

so what's stopping me? it is definitely not the lack of encouragement. it's the lack of courage. the fear of the unknown. the risks involved.

hence, i'm still stuck in the advertising industry... it's like selling my soul to the devil... but i still have the passion for advertising.

anyways, please spread the word around... whoever needs a swimming instructor, let me know. i'm not earning any commission from it. my friend and i both think that it's just important that everyone knows how to swim... and someday we won't read about drowning cases in the dailies anymore.

Jean Grey.. whao...

I'm quite a sucker for quizzes. I think it's fun because you can see how accurate the results will turn out to be. Sometimes it's a complete waste of time... but it's still fun. So anyway, a friend sent me this quiz on X-Men knowing that i love the comics. And who would've guessed that i'll be Jean Grey?

You scored as Jean Grey.
Jean Grey is likely the most powerful X-Man. She loves Cyclops very much but she has a soft spot for Wolverine. She's psychic so she can sense how others are feeling and tries to help them. She also has to control her amazing powers or the malevolent Phoenix entity could take control of her and wreak havok.
Powers: Telekinetic, Telepathic

He's in love...

My Personal Training sessions will be over soon and as the name suggest, a personal trainer is more than just a trainer, he has also now a friend.

As a friend, we talk and discuss things beyond the gym and my fitness regime. We talk (well... he talks, i bitch) about work, other people in the gym, other friends... just life in general.

As a friend, i'm was delighted to know that he's now in-love again. I kinda know that girl as well and frankly speaking, i don't really like her... but hey... just cause i don't like her doesn't mean that i cannot encourage him right? So yesterday after my usual training session, we stayed and chatted while he waited for his twin for dinner.

He was so excited when he talks about her... he goes all goo-goo-gaa-gaa over her and i just find it so amusing because he was acting like a little kid on a Christmas Day.

He's really looking forward to the weekend... and all i want to say is... ALL THE BEST TRAINER!! I can foresee my training session with him on Sunday an exciting one!

I would love to continue on with my training sessions... but with RM110 per session... i cannot afford them anymore... not now anyway but hopefully sometime after CNY next year.

Missing Race Day

Ever since the F1 season ended... i have 1 less thing to look forward to during the weekends.
No more race day.
No more qualifying.
No reason to rush home to catch the race.
No reason to stay up late for the race.
No reason to watch Star Sports.

I can't wait for the new season to start. Hafta start saving for Sepang. I would like to purchase new McLaren merchandises next season.
