PJ Half Marathon
today is the day.
reached the stadium at 5:30am and after registration, i checked out the 'competition'... i was scared and very much intimidated by the outlook of some of them. some looked super fit... some wore designer brands from head to toe, some were doing their super-duper stretches and warm-ups.... i told myself just do my best and if i finished within the top 100, it would be a bonus.
the whistle went off and people were cutting me from both left and right, but i kept my pace and kept things slow and steady, slowly counting down the distance. even when i reached the hilly areas, i didn't stop running, just merely slowed down my pace and kept on running, and running, and running...
almost towards the last 1km, i felt like dying. the feeling of so near yet so far. but i picked my speed and ran as fast as i could for the last 1km and then i crossed the finished line...
i got the 82 placing... i completed the race in 1 hour 3 mins.
no bad for a first timer eh? now i'm working towards the singapore half marathon in december.
